The Infamous Joseph Clark's Gunpowder Green Tea
A special Gunpowder green tea from China. Gunpowder tea gets its name from the practice of rolling green tea leaves into balls, similar to gunpowder pellets to preserve their flavour on long voyages. The East India Company names this tea after Joseph Clarke who was caught stealing our Gunpowder tea in 1604 and received a 6-month sentence. Today we remember Joseph Clarke's great taste in tea, and continue to honour the tradition of supplying teas worth going to prison for!
