Sencha green tea is classic green tea from Japan, Sencha means common in Japanese. Sencha tea is evenly balanced between its sweetness and astringency with a finish that reminds one of seaweed and it should coat the roof of the mouth with a subtle film. There are many grades of Sencha, but Sencha tea is harvested early and is younger more subtle and more delicate the later harvested teas of ‘Bancha’ or ‘Kukicha’.
