Pure Rooibos (Red Bush) is a slightly sweet and nutty infusion, with a natural red colour. A caffeine free herbal tea to be enjoyed throughout the day, particularly in the afternoons and evenings. Rooibos tea was drunk by the Khoisan tribe of South Africa, as an herbal tea medicine. In 1797, The East India Company appointed Baron Macartney as Governor of the Cape Colony. The British learned the ways of the Khoisan, and Rooibos tea was made popular in Cape Town and eventually Britain.
