PWRR - Plum, Walnut, Rum & Raisin Extra Jam is for those that want a little variety in their preserves, the classic combination of fruit, nuts and rum goes well at any time of the day or night. Sugar preserves of various fruits were termed ‘jam’ in the 17th and 18th centuries. Fruits and sugar were boiled together and sealed to give a long-keeping preserve. Jams were used on The East India Company voyages as they contained Vitamin C, which was known to prevent scurvy
