The East India Company unrefined vanilla cane sugar is a perfect addition sweeten natural chocolate drinks. Over time the natural vanilla pods flavour the sugar and it's a perfect substitute for normal sugar in recipes that would benefit from a vanilla undertone. Originally vanilla was only cultivated in Mexico, though about 200 years ago The East India Company introduced vanilla to India where it is still grown today in Kerala.
